"I've worked for the the Panama City Fire Department for over 32 years . I have always been involved with fire safety and kids from day one , back in 2014 the idea hit me ,to be able to recognize young people going through tuff times with a real Fire-helmet! Now, entering 2025 with the help of a lot of people we are at 72 helmets given out to deserving individuals. Also, I am so proud that we have been recognized by Morganfield Ky , Slocom, Alabama and Panama City which gave us keys to their cities."
"I've been with Panama City Fire Department for 8 years and currently hold the rank of Driver Engineer. Been assisting with Lids4kids almost 2 years now. I serve the FD and state as a Therapy Dog handler through Peer Support programs. Lucy is a 6 six year old pocket bully who offers comfort and support to first responders and Fire fighters at home and state wide during disasters. I am the Honor Guard Commander and a member of the PCFD technical rescue team. Lids4kids is special to me because it allows us to Honor those in our community who give life their all even when life gives them tough times. The people who may have fought an illness they didn't choose or overcame a struggle they didn't deserve, these are the everyday heroes we want to uplift and encourage to keep overcoming!"
Jim is a local retired businessman that has been involved with Lids4kids for five years.
